Events and Outreach serves the institution and community by providing guidance and leadership in the areas of: event planning; educational initiatives; recognition of our students, faculty, and alumni; protocol methodologies; commencement and convocation exercises. The office is charged with carrying out the traditions inherent to Southern Illinois University.

Continuing Education and Professional Development
We offer innovative online and in-person continuing education classes that promote personal and professional development beyond campus.
Our department coordinates more than 200 conferences, workshops and programs annually.

SIU Day Volunteer Information
Help us welcome 500+ area high school students to campus as a part of SIU Day on September 18! As a part of their visit, high school students will take part in academic breakout sessions and tour campus. We are looking for volunteers in a variety of roles including greeting, ushering, and leading groups to breakout sessions. Interested? Sign-up here. Thank you!
